Bad Hair Day

It's the final Monday in May and time for Sketch #423 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This sketch is a great way to use some fun patterns together and maybe use up some tiny pieces of paper you've been saving (aka scraps).

This is also a great sketch to rotate - maybe 90 degrees?

I've used patterned papers from Beautiful Friendship (retired CTMH) and selected 3 patterns and 2 co-ordinating solid cardstocks (ballerina & sapphire).  The image is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Bad Hair Day (retired) which we can all relate to these days!!  The image is coloured with my copics, fussy cut & popped up on white cardstock, matted on sapphire cardstock.  The pink twine is from my stash.

I used the sentiment also from Bad Hair Day, matted on sapphire again & popped up with foam tape.  The cute ballerina bow was part of the complements set for Beautiful Friendship.

I've also used this card for Challenge #581 - Anything Goes from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I'm as usual late for that challenge but I do like to finish them all!!

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Christmas Challenge #15 - Clean & Simple

Christmas Challenge #15 at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is "Clean & Simple".  This is right up my alley - but can be difficult for many.  The idea of leaving blank spaces is intimidating & often you want to "clutter" it up.

I used the stamp set "Shake it Up" from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps for my one tiny penguin image, coloured with copic markers & popped up with foam tape onto the background.  I used a Picture my Life card and patterned paper from Silver & Gold paper collection (retired CTMH) and backed with white and charcoal cardstock.  For a little bling I added silver embellishing thread and bitty sparkles.

That's it - leave it clean & simple & decorate your envelopes!!

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Exhale

Good Monday Morning - - I'm here with another sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This is week #421 and the sketch is super cute!!!

I followed the sketch to the letter this week complete with flower image.

I again let the beautiful patterned paper from P13 - Four Seasons - Spring, shine in this larger card base.  I've used a beautiful lilac cardstock to back the patterned lilac paper and wrapped in lace ribbon from my stash (retired CTMH).

The larger flower image was fussy cut from another sheet of the patterned paper & popped up with foam tape for added dimension.  "Exhale" is a chipboard sentiment topped with platinum stickles.

To finish off, I've added gold glitter gems and, of course, decorated the envelope with yet another piece of the patterned paper.

The inside is blank to allow lots of room to write a special note to someone who needs to remember to exhale.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Coffee Anyone?

Happy Monday!!!  I do hope everyone is enjoying Spring in whatever way you are able.  Where I live we are fortunate to have great walks in the country, checking out the blooming daffodils and tulips, while keeping an eye out for the trilliums to pop up.

It's time for another sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog.

I have taken BIG artistic license with this sketch, while keeping the elements as designed.  OK ready....

Sometimes all you need for an awesome card is a great paper pack.  This one is from Echo Park and is called Coffee & Friends.  The sentiment sure spoke to me - "The good ole days ae still to come, especially with a great cup of coffee"   In my head I added "especially with friends & family."

I kept the sketch in mind with the three elements together (I know only one is a banner) and the sentiment on the paper tag.  I also added blush ribbon (retired CTMH) from my stash and a few peach enamel dots.

Lastly, I decorated my envelope - twice since I forgot to check the orientation of the words.

Enjoy, and play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
