ABC's with Heart 2 Heart

The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart is to use letters in your project.  OK, so I know my ABC's, how hard can this be....Not at all when you use Picture My Life.

"i love U" - - how cute is that???

I used two PML cards to cut out the sentiment and the letter "U" popping both of those onto the PML heart card.

I added some aqua shimmer trim to make the tiny heart and banner to add a wee bit of sparkle, rounded the corners of all the papers and done!!!

I'm happy to say that I participated in all the Heart to Heart Challenges for the month of January - - my new years resolution is still going......

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Atlantic Hearts #144

This week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge was a wow!  Have you checked out the blog yet?  http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/

I pulled out the Zoe paper package for today - gotta love polka dots!!! One of the easiest ways to add some pop or wow to a simple cards is to emboss.  This time I used the CTMH dots embossing folder.

I haven't abandoned my stash - using up some colonial white ribbon and felt flower, and a tiny green glitter brad in the centre of the rolled flowers.

A simple "Thank You" for the sentiment and it's ready to go,

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Color My Heart #177

I'm continuing to accept the dare challenge - Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge that is.

The colours this week are crystal blue, peacock, whisper and white daisy.  Peacock is one of the newer colours in the CTMH pallette and is a rich dark blue.

I decided to focus on the inks with this card - no patterned paper.  This is the Ink Blot stamp set which I have been anxious to use.  It creates a great background without being too busy.

I used first and second generation stamping for the hearts in whisper and crystal blue, matting both white daisy pieces with peacock.

I tend to keep my cards very clean & simple and have not used any embellishments on this card, preferring to let the hearts and sentiment say it all.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

By the Numbers!!

The challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges is "By the Numbers" - anything with numbers incorporated into the design.

I've also been challenging myself to use up some of my stash - - time to pull out those favourites that I've kept and didn't want to cut up.

This paper package had so many cute patterned papers.  There were polka dots, stars, stripes, and numbers!!!  For the life of me I can't remember the name, but if you do - feel free to leave me a comment!!!

I cut out some of the numbers and popped onto the front of my Birthday Wishes card with the cute sentiment of "who's counting?"

I love the colour combination of chocolate, buttercup, sweet leaf and twilight and used those in the ink swatch stamp.  A couple of green triangles from the assortment and the card is complete.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Still meditating....

I've almost reached my zen state with all my colouring.

I am using up some of my retired CTMH cardstock (spring iris) and patterned paper (Stella) with this card.  My little lady is dispensing her words of wisdom... Age is something that doesn't matter,.. unless you're a cheese.

Now who is going to get this birthday card....???

More retired patterned paper - the lagoon is actually from a halloween paper package, and is perfectly paired with Slate.  I added some retired lagoon baker's twine and silver sequins to finish up the card.

I have left a sentiment off the front of this card and can stamp the inside depending on the occasion.

How's your meditating?

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Meditating...

I decided I needed to start meditating....  by colouring!!!!  Everyone says it's the new "in thing", but for many it's just a way of life!!!  You can colour with markers, watercolour paints, pencil crayons, watercolour pencils, the possibilities are endless.

So go ahead - pick up your marker and just colour....

There are two sayings that every Canadian hockey kid learns:

#1 - Keep your head up
#2 - Keep your stick on the ice

I couldn't wait to ink up this cute image.  I, of course, had to colour him to be Maple Leaf blue!!!!  Used some wink of stella glitter for his blades to add some shimmer, retired Star Spangled Blue cardstock and Snowhaven patterned paper.  Corners are snipped with ticket punch from Stampin' Up.

Ha ha ha - This is one of my favourite images - just sayin'

This sassy character just tickles my funny bone!!!!  I can hear those words of wisdom she's sharing.

I coloured the image with my copics, cut it out and popped it up with foam tape on patterned paper from Urban.  Cardstock is saffron and retired outdoor denim.

Ok, now your turn, get colouring.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Miracle at Disneyland

I really am using up my stash on these final two layouts from Disneyland.  Do you remember what it was called?

This kit came with everything to make 2 - 2 page layouts.  It had cute emboss resist chipboard embellishments and stickease to quickly (?) finish your project.

I wanted my layout to combine the fun aspect of convention,  with the amazing creative art aspect.  We are treated to the beautiful creations of selected consultants who wow us every year.  I am in awe and inspired each year by their talent.

I take so many photos of the art that flip flaps are a must on the layout to enable me to add a few more pictures.

Every time I see the Canadian picture I smile.  I am missing the entire group picture - this is just of Team Brae'r.  Home office held a Canadian lunch where red & white were the colour of the day!!!

Again, a few more 4 X 6 flipflaps to add additional photos of artwork.

So, that's it for my Disney//Convention 2015 album.

Color My Heart Color Dare

This weeks' challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare ( http://colormyheartcolordare.blogspot.ca/ ) is to use shades of grey.

This color combination can be tricky.  It can be too much of a contrast, or look drab.  It can also look absolutely stunning in its contrast and subtle shading.

It can also, of course, be a mess with white daisy and black involved.    I have a few projects with a lovely placed fingerprint!!!

The paper package from La Vie en Rose is a study in this color combination.  The patterns of black, white and grey are stunning.  (If you haven't seen the paper package click on the link below)

The retired stamp set The Happy Couple is one of my all time favourites.  I embossed the cake, bow, and sentiment, popped up with foam tape, then added pieces from black flourishes sparkles. (which are available in while supplies last)

I ink distressed the white daisy with whisper ink and the other paper pieces with slate.

Until the next challenge, enjoy,

Jennifer

Frozen - Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Whether you have kids or not, everyone knows the infamous theme song from Frozen.  Let it go.. let it go.... sorry I know you now have that song stuck in your head.

The challenge for this week at Heart2Heart Challenges is simply that "Frozen".  Now we all know that besides Elsa & Anna, there is a quirky, cute little snowman called... Olaf!!!!  What would come next but... Do you....

The entire card is cut with the Artbooking cricut cartridge.  I think I'm in love with this little guy.

Glacier, cranberry, cocoa and black cardstock, with a touch of silver glitter paper (don't throw away those scraps), along with the handy fundamental sticker letters and tah dah - - done.

You might notice there is no ? on the fundamental stickers.  I used the negative dot and cut the inside out of the letter "P" and created the ?.

The cold never bothered me anyway.

Enjoy,

Flip Flap Disney Style!!!

You're going to flip Disney style for this layout.  A wonderful friend, Jackie Lupien made myself and two other ladies these beautiful layouts as our room mate gift at Convention.  I couldn't wait to get my photos in place.

This is the double page spread all closed up.  The paper package she used is a retired one called Magic that many consultants are still hanging on to!!!

This is a close up of the left side with a 4 X 4 flip flap opened.  Minnie and Mickey have a great spot!!!  This picture is from the daytime parade.... that I patiently (??) waited in my staked-out viewing spot. It was well worth the wait.

I've opened up both sides of the 6 X 12 flip flaps which allowed for lots more photos.  A ride on Cars Land was so much fun - - racing through the track trying to beat the other car.  Of course, we had to get a picture with Lightning McQueen.  We tried not to mess up his shine.

Jackie has so many little flip flaps throughout the pages.  This is one of the 4 X 6 flip flaps opened to allow a couple more pictures. These were taken during our ride!!!

This is the right side page closed up.  Jackie has the 4 X 12 (top) and 8 X 12 (bottom) flip flaps on this layout.  Brandy & I stayed in line (again) to get our picture with Princess Jasmine.  Alladin had to go catch a monkey and left us.....

Surprise - - there was another flip flap on this page - - a 4 X 4 where I was able to add 2 more pictures!!!!

This is the right page opened up fully - - on the top 4 X 12 flap there is another small 3 X 3 flap that opens up.  I kept my Disneyland room card and ticket pass and added them to my layout.

We were also able to get a photo with the duck himself, Donald.  That's the one thing about Disneyland, you can be a kid again.

I would have more photos but my camera battery died (no wonder) and I didn't get night photos.  We were in the park from the time it opened early for hotel guests until closing.  It was such a fun filled day.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

More Disney....

I've a few more layouts to show you from my Disneyland 2015 album.  This was so much fun to put together and brought back so many great memories.  As you can tell from the pictures we shared more than a couple laughs together during our week.

There isn't anything more iconic Mickey than his hands.  They are at once recognizable.  I again used the Fundamentals paper package, Cricut cuts from Mickey & Friends, and embellishments from Simple Stories.
Sometimes the easiest way to scrapbook is just to add photos, which is what I did with this cute Disney paper.  I added the Simple Stories embellishments and that is it!!!
This is one of the layouts we did at Convention.  I had taken photos of the beautiful flower centrepiece and fussy cut one of the flowers for an embellishment.  The huge chandelier was just one of many hanging in this hall.  This layout really captures how these ladies truly have become my best friends!!!

I still have more layouts to share with you so stay tuned.....

Enjoy,

Jennifer

I Dare You.....

I dare you... I double dog dare you.  Do you remember playing as a kid?

I do - and I accept that dare - Color My Heart Color Dare that is.  This is a great blog to challenge you to work with colors that you may not have tried before - or even thought would work together. The challenge for this week is to work with colors from CTMH, glacier, white daisy and silver.

This color combination made me think of chilly nights, crisp wind, and snow!!

I stamped a scene using Frosty Fun and colored with my watercolor pencils.  The snowflakes and sentiment were cut from Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.

So now I dare you..... http://colormyheartcolordare.blogspot.ca/

G'day Mate!!!!

It's time for another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge - and this weeks sketch is beautiful.  You can see this weeks sketch, previous weeks sketches and gather lots of inspiration - just follow the link below.

 http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/

We have had a really mild winter so far.... and yesterday (& today) we have been getting a ton of snow!!!  It is very pretty to look at when you're tucked safely inside, but not so nice if you have to drive anywhere.

G'day Mate!!!  I love this stamp set from CTMH which was part of the Australian idea book.  Aren't they just the cutest little guys offering up their birthday wishes?  I wanted the background to be bright, and it sure is with lagoon and watermelon(retired) cardstock.  A pop of lagoon shimmer trim, some bitty sparkles and weighted with slate cardstock.

The images were coloured with Copic markers, and fussy cut with my handy micro-tip scissors.  The sentiment is stamped in slate.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Disneyfied!!!

Happy Monday everyone!!!!  It's snowing & blowing here in Southern Ontario, Canada this morning. I can't think of a better day for some California sunshine - Disneyland style  :)

Here we go....

Ha ha ha ha - OK so I had to get everyone in the Disney mood!!!

The theme of Convention 2015 for CTMH was "UP" and of course we all had to pose for photos.  I fussy cut and popped up another "house" to add more dimension to this already spectacular layout.  This layout was one we completed at Convention designed by the art department.   Look at all those balloons cut with the new Artistry cricut cartridge from the paper fundamental pack!!!

I love how this layout turned out.  I wanted it to look underwater like the ride.  Thanks to my cricut for cutting the sea grass, coral, mermaid and title, and my trusty fine tip micro scissors for fussy cutting the fish.

No Disney layout would be complete without a set of ears!!!  Again, cricut to the rescue.  The fundamental paper pack added just the right amount of print and colour.  A few stars randomly placed, mat the photos and done!!!

Stay tuned for more Disney pictures - - it's supposed to keep snowing so we'll have to keep warm.
Enjoy,

Jennifer

One

Happy Friday everyone!!!  This has been a fun week for me, and I have enjoyed participating in a few blog challenges.

For my final blog challenge of the week, I decided to participate in the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week which is "one" - yep that's it!!!

I love using the Picture My Life cards not only in my pocket scrapbooking and page layouts but also as a jumping off point for a quick card.  Off I went to the scrap closet to find the perfect "one"!!!

I used a card base from the PML Childhood set, trimming  a little soI was able to mat with canary and lagoon cardstock to bring out the word colours.
I also used some white organza ribbon and white stars to finish this card off.

I quite like how this card turned out and hope you do as well.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

I've got my Mojo

I've got my Mojo .... Mojo Monday that is.   I've often following mojomonday.blogspot.ca but have never participated in their sketch challenges.  Until now!!!

This is the sketch for challenge #429.  You can see all their previous sketches on their blog, which is great for inspiration should you lose your mojo.
This is my interpretation of the sketch.

I used Beloved Bouquet the January Stamp of the Month from CTMH, fern and colonial white cardstock, poppy, ruby, chocolate, sweet leaf and fern inks, quatrefoil embossing folder and brown sparkles.

The sentiment image was curved on my block to follow the contours of the circle.

Until next challenge...

Enjoy,

Jennifer

I used Kaleidoscope patterned paper, whisper cardstock, whisper thick twine, and pixie, hollyhock, sweet leaf, and fern inks all available through CTMH.
