Grid Magic

Welcome to another week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog.

Are you ready to try a grid sketch?  I admit I was a tad hesitant at first but once I started playing and had a system for those tiny squares I was on a roll

I used Simple Stories Santas Village patterned paper & cut into 3/4" strips and then cut into 3/4" squares one strip at a time.   I layered the strips onto Avocado (retired CTMH) cardstock & then again onto Everygreen (retired CTMH) cardstock.  I'm still working at using up my stash of older supplies!

The sketch does not include a sentiment or image but I wanted to show how you could add simple embellishments to finish off and complement the grid background.  The embellishments are also from Simple Stories Santas Village.  I've popped up using foam dimensional tape.  No other embellishment for this card to allow the background to shine.

I do hope you'll give this sketch a try - simply link up your project here

Snowmies!!!

Where did the summer go?  Grands are back to school and everyone is back to their routines.

This weeks' sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is a fun one.  Layers, large focal image and sentiment along with a few embellishments.

I'm still working on getting my Christmas card stash built up and am behind.... So quick working to get this one completed on time.

I love working with a paper suite to take the guesswork out of creating.  Add a few of your own touches to make a quick, cute & fun card.

I pulled out Echo Park - Hanging with my Snowmies using the sticker sheet and cardstock.  I heat embossed the cardstock using a snowflake stencil with Wow white opaque embossing powder.

I love how the sentiment and image are combined in one sticker.  I decided to fussy cut a black border to highlight the sticker.
A few snowflake embellishments from my stash to finish off.

We can't wait to see what you create with this weeks' sketch.  Simply link up your project here

Gold & Black

It's the final Monday in August!  Where the heck has summer gone.  I admit I am a fan of routine after carefree summer days.

Let's take a look at the final sketch of August at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This one fits my style perfectly - lots of layers and clean lines!

Christmas cards are still on my craft table.  I love sending out to all my family & friends.

I've used more awesome paper from Modern Christmas (retired SU) and fussy cut three sets of trees from the patterned paper for embellishments.

**Tip**

Use good sharp fine point scissors when fussy cutting & turn your paper not your hand.

Title sentiment from Ornamental Christmas (retired SU) is heat embossed on black two tone cardstock.   A few gold glitter gems and gold embellishing thread from my stash to finish off another Christmas card.

We'd love to have you join us with your project using this weeks' sketch.  Simply add here

Goal!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians.   This weeks' sketch is layered up and I'm all in.   As soon as I saw this sketch I...
