Regatta

It's time to get nautical with Regatta for Heart 2 Heart Challenges.  This is such a great paper package with gorgeous patterns for all your scrapbooking needs.

So, for my Heart 2 Heart Challenge entry this is what I came up with.

I started with one of the 3x4 Picture My Life cards, and then matted it on white, pomegranate and glacier cardstock.

The coordinating My Anchor thin cuts and my acrylix are an easy way to add some quick stamping.  The lighthouse was stamped first in desert sand, and then layered with foam tape with a second lighthouse stamped in pomegranate.

I added a couple of the starfish from the complements, some white twine and done.

This is such a versatile card and could be used for birthday, thinking of you, or just a pretty note card.

Don't forget Regatta is gone the end of April 2016 so don't miss out on getting yours now.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Photo Op

Like every scrapbooker, I'm a bit behind on my pages.  I don't always work in chronological order, sometimes scrapping recent events and then going back to my photo vault to "catch up".

Heart2Heart Challenges is all about the photo op!!  I've been working on our trip to Aruba from February 2015 and have the perfect layout for this challenge.

We were having dinner at a Japanese restaurant on the resort, when the waiter walked past, and grabbed the camera off the table, yelling "smile".

It was such a fun picture, not the best, but a great memory from that night.

I love cutting my pictures and took the scissors to my cocktail picture.  I used foam tape to pop it off the page for an added embellishment.

Paper, complements and embellishments are from the retired line of Wanderful, but, I stashed enough to finish scrapbooking this trip!!!

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Ready for another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge?  This week I knew exactly what I wanted to do, which is actually pretty surprising, since I usually have to ponder a good long time.

Isn't this a great sketch from Michelle?

Picture My Life provides a great jump off point for both scrapbooking and card making projects.  I used a 4 x 6 card from the Georgie package, and cut in half, ink distressing it with whisper ink.

I added the peekaboo sentiment and stars from the Georgie complements and the juniper bow from the Georgie assortment.  A double wrapped piece of grey thick twine tied with a bow finishes off this card.

This is a larger card 6 1/2 x 5  base which allowed more room for the PML card.

Now go check out what the other designers have come up with. http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/

Party, party, party

Wow - what a FUN week I've had.  First up was the Spring Up event where I was able to play with new projects and see, touch, oooh and ahh over new product.

Next, I met with a group of 12 wonderful ladies who were all about having FUN...

Tiffany hosted a card workshop where each of the ladies made 4 cards.  Some were new stampers, a couple it was their second time and a few it was old hat!!!!  It doesn't matter the level of experience, I walk you through the instructions and you'll be smiling with your finished product.  I love hearing comments like "I'm not sure I can give this away", or "my mom will be so happy I made this for her"

Not to mention the FUN of a girls' night out sharing giggles, stories, smudged fingers, and, of course, creativity!!!  I have the reward of sharing what I love to do with others, meeting new friends and, of course, sharing in the pride of accomplishment from the ladies!!!

Enjoy,

Jennifer

I love my job!!!

I love my job - I really do!!!  I just spent an incredible day at the Spring Up event held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  Let me tell you, it was electric.  Since a picture tells the story....

Wow - did we have a group!!!  I'm so proud to call these ladies not only my peers and co-workers but my friends!!!  That's what the CTMH family is all about - building relationships.
I had the opportunity to be a presenter of the business class "Find New Customers" prepared by Louise Moyer.

It was a great experience - nerve wracking and goofy but fun!!!  A big thank you to the naked good looking supportive consultants for their encouragement.

That's what this day was about - learning, growing, and having fun.

Ah Sticky Boy how we love you!!  A CTMH event would not be complete with you making an appearance.

I was so excited when one of my team members at her first event found the very first Sticky Boy!!!

Home office is always very generous in providing consultants with tons of product to create away.
A gorgeous corporate designed two page layout with the new Florence paper package, complements and accessories.  This is a beautiful kit.

Cards, cards, cards with Magical - - another hit for sure.

Thank you to home office, Pierre Gelinas, my fellow presenters and all the great consultants in Toronto at the event for making this day what it was - Fun, Inspirational, Educational and Creative!!!

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Sketchy with H2H

So, this week Heart2Heart has decided to throw a sketch out for interpretation.

Use it as is  - - flip it, move it around - your choice.  I am, of course, loving the tulips in the image!!!

I followed the sketch and left the elements in the same place as shown in the sketch.

This is what I came up with.

Wild Wonders had the perfect lion image which I stamped once with honey ink and then stamped the mane again with honey and saddle inks, edge rolling to get the shading.  I fussy cut the mane and added to the lion with foam tape, edge distressing with my scissors to give it a rougher look.  I then inked around the lion with saddle ink.

The sentiment "It's about to get wild around here" is stamped in slate.  Three dark grey gems from the grey gem assortment finishes up the card.

The paper is from  Babycakes, matted on whisper cardstock.  The zip strips I cut down to the diaper pins for the three thin strips.  Remember to use those zip strips - don't throw them away!!

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Four with Heart2Heart Challenges

It's time for another challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges and since it's April, the challenge is "four". I might have taken a bit of artistic leeway with the title of the challenge, but I couldn't resist.  So not only is April the 4th month of the year, it's also the month for golf - - The Masters!!!

FORE!!!!  Ha Ha

I love the cloud paper from CTMH retired paper pack, Splendor, which fit perfectly with my golfer card idea.  The grass is cut from the Artiste cricut cartridge using Topiary cardstock, layered three times to make a big rough!!!

The golfer & tee are stamped from a long retired set from CTMH called Tee Time which was one of my first stamps!!!    I coloured the golfer with ShinHan markers to finish it off.

I used a large white gem from the grey assortment for the ball flying through the air.  Lastly I stamped the word "fore!" with tiny typeface alphabet stamp.

I haven't stamped a sentiment inside yet, but it could be for Father's Day or maybe Birthday..... hmmm...

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Smile with AHSC

I'm going back, waaay back for the supplies used in my project for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week.

I've been having such fun going through my stash of collected paper, embellishments and stickease - almost like it's all new again.

One of the great things about CTMH is combining different collections with the same colour pallet because it all matches. So, if you're looking for the colour glacier it' the same glacier in all collections.   For this card I've used pieces from Brushed, Blossom and Splendor.

Maybe this is why the sentiment spoke to me - "these are the moments I live for" - or in Oprah's words a "ta dah moment".

Please pop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog to see other design team members artwork and join in on the fun.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

A Wedding Story

I often complete my layouts before I even know what pictures I'm going to use - the event may not have even taken place.  I know a lot of scrappers meticulously choose their paper to match their photos, perhaps even purchasing paper to match certain pieces of clothing.  I'm asked how can you make a layout when you don't know what photos you're going to use.

I guess I'm a read from the back of the book kinda scrapper.  LaVieEnRose was a tough paper package for me to work with.  I couldn't get my mojo going on this one at all.  Thank goodness for another very talented consultant, Chris Robertson, who had designed a beautiful workshop.

Turns out, it was perfect for my niece's black & white wedding which had taken place before this paper package was available!!!

Although the wedding colours were black & white, there was a myriad of colours in my photos.

Don't worry about cutting your photos to the size you want if they are too large for the photo mat.  Especially at a wedding, there will be bits and pieces that are in the way of your main subject.
I love candid photos - they capture the memory of the day.  The great grins, giggles and stories we share come alive again.
This beautiful bride was our flower girl 20 years ago.  She shared her wedding day with the anniversary of her parents' wedding day, which was especially poignant having lost her dad when she was only 4 years old.

More silliness especially when family gets together.

You might just as well say "cheese"!!!!

It is not very often the boys will actually grant me a nice picture.  It is often silly faces, or gestures but sometimes they co-operate.

...or not
