Christmas with Atlantic Hearts Sketch

It's time for another sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and I am again in love with this sketch,  I don't know how Michelle does it - she continues to amaze week to week.

The October SOTM - Yuletide Joy is so pretty,  The intricate designs of the star, bell, stocking and present are perfect for embossing.

I decided to emboss in silver the star and the sentiment and popped onto silver glitter paper for even more shimmer.

The little gems are from my stash and also glitter!!!

I continued the embossing on the inside of the card and added a smaller glitter star.

A card set may be coming in the future using all four of the images from this stamp set!!!  All the images are so pretty and are begging for some ink.

Enjoy,

Jeepers Creepers

It's Jeepers Creepers at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week.  Create your project using the cute Jeepers Creepers paper package from CTMH.

I don't have little ones at home so I had to think a bit outside the box for this challenge.  This is what I came up with.

The Picture My Life cards provide a great jumping off point, and this little monster just seemed perfect to wish someone a Happy Birthday.

I backed the PML card with another zig zag card pattern and finally with slate cardstock.

Complements and embellishments in black glitter and googly eyes finish off the card.

I hope you'll join us at Heart 2 Heart this week, simply follow the link.  http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.ca/

Nurse Charlotte

I took my mom to her first scrapbook store during one of our outings.  She said she'd wait in the car, and then changed her mind and said she'd look to see what the store might have.  First, she was surprised to see her "quilting" tools in the scrapbook store.   She wandered around and came across a stamp that she said I simply must buy.  So, not one to argue with mom, I did.
This was the image she insisted I purchase, who I called Nurse Charlotte.  This cute nurse came with a sentiment that said "this won't hurt a bit".  My sister, Judy is a nurse and has taken care of my mom post surgeries, so mom has a love of nurses!!!

I've coloured the image with copic markers, cutting out and popping up with foam tape.  I used retired Charlotte papers (CTMH)  and organza ribbon (CTMH)  from my stash.  The edges of the paper are distressed with whisper ink. (CTMH)

By the way, I'm not taking mom into any more scrapbook stores - she's expensive to get out the store!!!

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Watercolour with Atlantic Heart

The sketch for this week at Atlantic Hearts Challenge is right up my alley.  I've said before how I like clean & simple and Michelle has perfected that style with this sketch.

I was asked to create several sympathy cards and found inspiration in a retired stamp set called Beautiful Things.

This set just makes me feel calm and balanced in its' simplicity.

I used the watercolour glacier  paper from Whimsy fundamental paper package, with banners of glacier cardstock, Rustic Home and bronze shimmer trim.

The image is centred on chocolate carstock and popped up with foam tape to give some dimension.

Two brown glitter gems finish off the card.

I stamped the image onto watercolour paper with Memento Grey ink, using watercolour pencil crayons to colour.

I wanted to keep the quiet, calm feeling in this image with the softness of watercolour.

The sentiment So Sorry is also from a retired stamp set called Sincere Expressions.

I hope you'll play along with us at AHSC and add your project by following the link.

Perfect 10 with H2H

Happy Thanksgiving Monday!!  Wow - time has ticked on and fall is upon us.  We have a great fall fair that we make an annual tradition.   No fair visit is complete without a visit to the goats, chickens, and sheep.  I love checking out everyone's entries in the home craft division - the colours and textures are amazing!!!

This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges we are focusing on "Perfect 10" - the possibilities are endless.

I decided to show you Month 10 from a workshop completed by Brenda Rose which uses the beautiful Whimsy paper fundamentals along with Baby Girl or Baby Boy complements.  Pink or Blue the choice is up to you!!  (like my rhyme?)

This girl layout has a cute giraffe, and gold accents with thistle cardstock complementing the whimsy thistle polka dots.

I love the clean & simple lines of this layout.

The polka dot background is cut with the Artristy cartridge, but if you don't have the cartridge the layout is great with just the mat.

On the boy layout, the polka dots are continued with the border stamped in whisper.  This time the complements are silver glitter, with seaglass glitter highlights.

I am in love with the cuddly lion and funky monkey!!!

Canary is the cute complementary colour on this layout.

Show us your Perfect 10 and link up your projects by following this link.  http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.ca

Enjoy,
