I am dreaming of warm weather, white sand beaches and sparkling ocean waters.....
What better image to colour than "Gus" from Art Impressions to bring back that feeling of summer or vacation times. I like to stamp and colour at least two images at a time, and then create my cards. This image has great colours to pull from to match up papers, and I chose to pair with papers from Jubilee paper package ( CTMH retired). I love the blues, yellows and reds featured in this paper.
Both cards use the same paper packages but with subtle changes, look completely different.
Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge makes cutting the tag a snap to put together. I added black hemp, black sparkles and black ink distressing, along with black stamped "happy birthday" to ground the bright colours.
The cranberry gingham pattern is the reverse side of the solid cranberry paper in the first card. I still used black hemp and black sparkles with black stamped "hurry up and relax" sentiment.
The interior of the cards is the reverse sentiment to the other card.
I have entered these cards in the Heart 2 Heart January weekly challenges. The first challenge was to complete a row on the tic tac toe board. So with my first card I think I've completed both the middle horizontal and vertical rows. What do you think?
- cricut - cut the tag with Art Philosophy (exclusive CTMH)
- ribbon - hemp tie on the tag which I hope counts as ribbon
- bling - black sparkles.
(all CTMH)
- cricut to cut the tag
- ribbon - hoping the hemp counts
- distressing - ink distressed the tab
Next challenge - birthday colour challenge. My birthday is September which means I have to use Cranberry.
Cranberry is a featured colour of Jubilee paper package and the tags on each of the cards is cranberry.

Wedding Card
Going to the chapel and I'm going to get married, going to the chapel of love......
Ha ha ha - did you sing the previous line or did you say it?
My nephew is getting married on February 14th in a winter wonderland themed wedding. Believe it or not, this is the first winter wedding we've been to. (at least a winter wedding in Canada) I know their colours are silver and teal and their theme involves snowflakes so I wanted to create a card that would reflect their day.
I used the Snowhaven paper package, Artfully Sent cricut cartridge, retired black tulle, lagoon glitter paper and retired lagoon sparkles to create my card.
Now because I'm not mailing this card I also decorated the envelope with a cute "bride & groom" and "congratulations" on the reverse flap. I lined the envelope with the Snowhaven paper for a finished look.
I love the way this card turned out and how the Mr. & Mrs. pops right out of the inside.
A big thank you to Holly Veselnak for her inspiration. You can see her video

Seaside WOTG Layouts
I loved the Seaside Workshop on the Go and saw a modification from Mony Carter-Nelson that added some fun cricut cuts to the layouts. With great overlays, film strips, and matting cut with the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge, this layout was fun to put together. I, of course, had some pretty cute models for the pictures too.
I didn't have the same cartridges that Mony used, so I used the sand castle, beach balls, crab, and turtle from Life's a Beach cartridge. I love the googly eyes on the crab and turtles.
I take a lot of pictures and when there are 60 of us there are usually a ton more that are shared between everyone. I know I can't use all the photos, but I try....
Flip flaps are a great way to get more photos on your layouts. In this instance I added three 4 X 4 flip flaps directly onto my page protector. It's fun to flip your way through an album.
The patterns in the Seaside paper package are super for beach layouts but versatile enough for lots of other projects too.
Enjoy!!

Baby it's cold outside....
Brrrrr - I am not a fan of winter and today it is cold outside. My car read -28 degrees celsius this morning with wind chill warnings. So.... I'm dreaming of a warmer time.
As promised here are a couple of warm pages which were part of the Mexico vacation albums I was busy working on before Christmas.
The seaside paper package was one of my immediate favourite paper packages featured this year by CTMH. I love the colours, patterns and coordinating cardstock in the paper package. Add to that the cute complements and metal embellishments and it's a winner for me.
My niece was very creative with her wedding invitations. A plane ticket captured all the details for the wedding trip. It's such a cute feature on the title page. Add some great stamped images and a bit of bling & twine and the layout was done. The background patterned paper provided such a great jumping off point.
As you can tell by the photo we were ready to get our vacation started - - with our without a driver!!!
I hope you warmed up to my page - enjoy!!!

Shutter Card
Although I am an independent consultant with Close to My Heart, I do follow blogs and you tube channels of demonstrators with other direct sales companies. (gasp) One of the you tube channels that I really enjoy is frenchie stamps.
France's videos are so fun to watch and her instructions are easy to follow.
http://www.frenchiestamps.com/
This is my version of the shutter card she demonstrates on her blog (& videos)
The front of the card.
The shutter opens to reveal your sentiment.
I really combined the old with the new in this card and pulled out a long retired paper package called Vintage Travel from CTMH. The sentiment is from a new stamp set called a Variety of Thanks available from the Seasonal Expressions I. Flowers are cut with the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge in a variety of sizes. When the belly band is removed the large sunflower stays on the front of the card with the other two attached to the belly band. I added another sunflower to the inside but really kept the embellishments minimal.
I hope you try this card technique too - let me know what you think. I love comments.
Enjoy,
Jennifer

One of my New Years' "intentions" is to share more of my artwork and try to keep my poor little blog a bit more up-to-date.
My pre-Christmas was busy creating gifts for family and friends - - I forgot to get photos of some of the items but will share a special album with you over the next few weeks. We spent a fun, sun filled week last January to celebrate the wedding of my husband's niece, Amy to her new hubby, Brent. It was a great week of memories and, of course, a lot of photos. Each year I create a vacation albums (yes plural) as a Christmas gift to family who we had the pleasure of sharing the week with.
So, once Christmas was over, I finally was able to sit down in my scrap closet and just create what I wanted to.....and I couldn't get my mojo going - what..... I could do whatever I wanted and I didn't know what I wanted to do!!!
Then, inspiration hit - - the daughter of a co-worker got engaged on New Year's Eve - of course a card was in order. With my creativity lacking I pulled out the Artfully Sent cricut cartridge and looked up engagement cards. This is what I came up with.

The card was designed as a pop up card on the cartridge, but I liked the negative space and carefully transferred to create the bright Pixie font. I used only the "engagement" part of the wording and cut off "wedding" from the top, and also used only the engagement ring from the intertwined rings with glitter silver, A few pink glitter gems finished off the front of the card.
My mojo might be returning....
Enjoy,
Jennifer
