Convention this year was promised to be filled with hours of create & takes, crop projects, and fabulous artwork. True to their word we had fabulous projects to complete.
The Story of Us - Circles turned into squares layered on top of circles - go figure. 1 1/4" circles punched from Flirty paper package, 3 X 3 flip flaps, Love Blooms stamp set, and of course sparkles. I love the new houndstooth irresitibles alphabet. This title was sponged with new slate colour.
One Good Day - Do you love the new colours of Ruby, Champagne, Slate, Whisper and Cashmere? I know I do. All of these colours are featured in this layout. No patterned paper, just cardstock, the flowered paper is random stamped with Love Blooms. The layout is completed with embellishments from Slate mini medley and Slate and Slate polka-dot ribbon.
Havin Some Boot Stompin' Fun - that we were and this layout is packed with fun. Noted canvas shapes, were easy to stamp on and just as effective left as they are. Floret paper shapes, antiqued gold mini medley, and harvest assortment baker's twine provide the embellishments. This paper package is Clementine with lagoon cardstock.
STUDIO J - Digital Scrapbooking - No Thank you. That was my initial reaction when Studio J was first announced over a year ago. Nope, not going to do digital - I need my paper, my stamps, ribbon, bling - I work on a computer all day long - not going to scrapbook on a computer. Yep that was me, until.....The smarty pants at CTMH gave all Convention attendees 5 free digital layouts and instructions to complete for Convention. I am not a computer wizard and I am not Studio J savy but I was able to complete my projects with all the great tips & tricks.
Thank goodness we were given great instructions from CTMH to compose our layouts. We didn't have to stick with their composition, but it did give great tips on changing paper colours, adding embellishments, stickease and ribbon. This layout is of my handsome son, and beautiful daughter-in-law on their wedding day. I am more than happy with how this turned out.
I wanted to use a different paper package than in the instructions and went with Sonoma - one of my faves. It was super easy to create the title, increase the size of the stickease and add the ribbon and bows where I wanted them placed. Even the metal embellishments look like the real thing - until you touch!!
This layout is actually from a halloween paper package and with a few clicks of the mouse the paper colour was changed. These pictures were from Convention 2011 Disneyland. I was even able to add the photo mats of whatever colour I wanted with Studio J.
My handsome grandpuppy Obi was the subject of this layout. We created the cute hanging banners with brads in the centre of each. The photos could be resized to the right size with the click and drag of my mouse. Easy, sneasy, peasy.
I love how this layout turned out. My son, Matt & his beautiful wife, Jenna wanted a picture of all their guests. This large photo well allowed me to expand the picture to capture everyone (almost) in this layout. Their rings, jewellery and flowers were able to be captured up close in the small photo wells on the right. Embellishments were overlayed and increased to highlight the simplicity of the page.
The fun part about Studio J is that you can also create and design your layouts for free!!! There is no charge to play, but if you choose you can purchase your layout and j-peg for a small fee. Your layouts come with the memory protector page. Try it for yourself at www.studioj.com and tell me what you think.
I hope you've enjoyed the layouts and artwork created at the CTMH Convention. I know I had fun making them.
Happy creating,
Jennifer

Convention Artwork #1
One of the many things I love about Convention is being able to create with the new products. There is nothing like getting your hands dirty to get the feel of new stamp pads, my acrylix, paper, ribbon, bling, oh my!! This year we had a ton of create & takes but with all the activity, and fun, I didn't finish mine until I got home.
Here are a few to start off with.
Mini Albums are a hot trend and CTMH is bang on with this cute 4 X 4 album. This little guy went together in a snap. The only thing I did differently was use jump rings to fasten and tie my ribbon around them, instead of using the ribbon to fasten together.
This album is created with Album Pages Dimension Elements #Z1791 at a cost of only $4.95!!!
The chipboard was covered with cardstock and papers from the Avonlea paper package. All the papers were pre-cut for us with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge. Sentiments throughout the book were from Approved #C1521. Pages were decorated with silver shimmer tape, harvest assortment, black and grey sparkles, and slate satin polka dot ribbon.

Cricut Artiste made these cards really pop. I'm glad I didn't have to do all the cutting for 1,500 consultants though. Top row cards were cut with the cartridge, along with the doily, the hearts, "love you" and sentiment bracket. Paper is from Flirty, LaBelleVie, and Dakota. Stamp set is Pun Fun C1505. Accessories were mini medley Slate, silver shimmer trim and harvet assorment baker's twine.
Of course we did layouts!! This is one of my favouites for sure. This features the paper package Clementine. The stars, boots, sentiment bracket and sentiment used an exclusive stamp set available only to those consultants who attended convention. The page was embellished with mini medley antique gold
I hope you've enjoyed this sneak peak of Convention artwork #1. I'll post more in the next couple of days, including Studio J layouts, along with a couple more layouts from convention.
Happy creating!!

Convention - Dallas, TX
My room mates & I proudly represented Canada in Dallas, TX for the CTMH Convention. We had an absolute blast - lots of artwork, ideas, new and reacquainting with friends. I'm excited to share with you the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book.
Here is a sneak peak of the front cover. Do you love the messenger bag we received? You can also get one for free if you sign up as a consultant for only $49.00!!! Holy smokes - ask me how you can do that - I'd love to have you on my Paper Traditions team.
I was so proud of a fellow Canuck, Alyson Mayo, who was a presenter during the Extravaganza Artwork portion of the convention. Alyson is an extremely talented artist who never fails to amaze me with her creations. Her blog is 'createwithalyson.blogspot.com'
Please take the time to check it out. You won't regret it.
Alyson created this beautiful 3-D project which was simply amazing. This features La Belle Vie paper package from the new idea book. Can you believe it? Look at the details, purses, dress forms, mailbox, stamped wallpaper and more.
Oh I forgot a little tidbit - A NEW CRICUT CARTRIDGE - Artiste!!!
Seriously little dresses on hangers!!!
As my good friend Nancy says, "shut the front door". There were so many little details, I tried to capture them all.
A wee mailbox on the post was just too cute. The sentiment is from a new stamp set!!
Alyson's blog is one of my faves!!! Her link is under my favourites - click & go!!!!
(after you finish reading my blog post)
Have I wet your appetite for the new Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book? I know I love absolutely everything from this idea book. (I know I say that every time)
There are lots of changes come August 1st, 2012, including new colours, some retiring colours, of course new paper packages and new Workshops on the Go, for cards, layouts and home decor!!! You are going to love this idea book as much as I do.
Stay tuned, I'll keep posting as the days go by until the great unveiling on August 1st, 2012.

Convention 2012 - Dallas, Texas
My posts have been lacking for the last few weeks. I'm getting ready to head to CTMH Convention 2012 in Dallas, Texas. I am super duper excited like a little kid!!! This is such a fun time of year and a time to meet new friends, and catch up with old friends. I am meeting up with three lovely ladies I had the pleasure of meeting at CTMH Convention 2011 - Disneyland. We clicked as friends like we had known each other for years. We have kept in contact over the past year and made plans to all go to convention this year together.
I hope Dallas is ready for us. Barb, Nancy & Jackie I can't wait to meet up with y'all tomorrow. We have a year's worth of talking to catch up on and an itinerary that should fill a month to do in 6 days.
So watch out Gilley's, Billy Bob's, Fort Worth Stockyards, Book Depository, and various shopping centres near and far, we're almost there.
I'll be back on the 17th of July and will post lots of pictures and maybe a few sneak peaks from the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book.
YEE HAW!!!!
