Get Better Soon with AHSC

Michelle has another great sketch for us this week at Atlantic Hearts Challenge.

This sketch fits my design style to a "T" - simple, clean lines, with a rule of three.

I soon discovered, however, that sometimes the sketches which don't "challenge" are the most difficult.

So, I went to my favourites from this season - - Rustic Home and Seaglass.

I turned the sketch sideways and used the Get Better stamp set for my sentiment.

The Rustic Home crocheted ribbon worked perfectly with the Seaglass glitter paper and barnboard patterned paper.

I pulled out some slate brads from my stash to weigh down the lighter colour and texture.

On the inside of my card I stamped "and until then keep a safe distance!" with the coffee mug stamped on the same geometric patterned paper.

I'm sure whoever I send this paper cup of goodness to will feel better right away!!!

I hope you'll play with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week.

Adventure with Heart2Heart

Let's go on an adventure with Heart2Heart Challenges this week!!!  So, instead of using paper from the new Adventure fundamental paper package, I decided to go on a different adventure.

I'm in love with this stamp set - Nature's Wish.  It is one of my new favourites for sure!!!

This was so fun to create and combines the old with the new. The frame is a die-cut I've had for some time but really haven't used.

My husband sighted a moose in our front yard and hence the inspiration for my "window".  It's cut from champagne cardstock, sponged with cocoa ink.  I've popped up from the background with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment "Enjoy the Adventure" using cocoa ink from a retired stamp set.

The background scene was created with first, second and third generation fern ink using the evergreen tree image, sponging the water colour with crystal blue and pacifica inks.

The deer I stamped and coloured with my shin han markers, and then stamped again overtop with Memento dark brown ink, fussy cutting it out and placing next to the water.

I used some retired patterned paper centered on cocoa cardstock.  For a final touch I added some burlap ribbon from the Rustic Home ribbon pack.

I hope you'll join in the adventure this week.   Share your project by click on the link http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.ca

Pumpkin Time with AHSC

The September Stamp of the Month has so many cute images and sentiments I knew I wanted to ink that baby up.  Michelle's sketch for this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge gave me the perfect opportunity.

The leaves, and pumpkin have coordinating images from the Artbooking cricut cartridge.

I turned the sketch to horizontal for my card, and used goldrush grid paper from the enchantment paper fundamentals on cocoa cardstock base.

The pumpkin was cut with colonial white and stamped with goldrush ink.  I cut another pumpkin in fern and inked with new england ivy ink.  I wanted to add some dimension to my pumpkin so I added some cocoa and new england ivy inks and embossed the lines of pumpkin before adhering to the base with foam tape.   The leaves were cut from fern cardstock, inked with new england ivy, pomegranate and goldrush inks   The sentiment is stamped with cocoa ink.

I hope you'll play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week.  Link up your project by following this link http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca

Create Kindness with CTMH

This challenge for this week is to feature artwork using the Create Kindness kit.  This kit is only available for the month of September - you'll want to get yours right away,

I started my project with the cute patterned 3 x 3 card & promptly cut it in half to have two pieces.

I used one of the great stamp sets included in the kit & stamped on the white circle piece provided.

I added the scalloped circle and aqua dots and glacier thick twine to layers of cardstock to finish up with a 5 x 5 square card.

So because I had 2 pieces of the 3 x 3 after cutting it, I made two cards.  I always like seeing how a card looks completely different simply by, switching up colours.

The cute flowers and sentiment were coloured with Shin Han markers keeping the same colour palette.

This kit is perfect in that it comes with almost everything you need to create cute 3 x 3 cards.  You just have to add the adhesive!!  Add the completed card to your little one's lunch box for a great surprise, or pop onto a bottle of wine for a quick hostess gift.    The possibilities are endless.

Let's see your project -  click on the link Heart 2 Heart Challenges and show us what you've done.  I'd love to see your artwork.

Enjoy,

Jennifer
